Welcome to Beachside Community Church

Sunday, 12/15 10:00am Service

Hello Beachsiders!  Christmas is rapidly approaching, and that means lots of shopping, office parties, decorations, and overall being very busy.  Hopefully though, you will still find time to reflect on the greatest gift that we have ever received, the gift of Jesus.

In the previous two weeks, we've heard about many of the prophecies that Jesus fulfilled, yet He was ultimately rejected by most of the people, and nearly all of the educated, religious people.  Join us this week as we explore why they failed to see Him for who He really was, and what we should be doing to ensure that we don't make the same mistake.  We hope to see you on Sunday!

Pastor Christian Magnell – Update

Hi Beachside!
I hope you all are well. My deployment is rapidly approaching the halfway mark and it’s going to get busy soon with Christmas, New Year’s and preparation for spring exercises, in which we’ll have a big role.

My unit is an Air Defense unit. We have oversight of a couple of battalions here in Germany, and a couple of Missile Defense Batteries located in other places. Essentially what we do is to provide mobile air defense against airplanes, helicopters and missiles.

What has my ministry looked like? It’s been an eclectic blend of weekly bible study, counseling, supervision of subordinate unit ministry teams (including regular visits), preaching occasionally in the chapel on post and involvement in religious support operations.

This weekend I am supporting a retreat in Garmisch, Germany for single Soldiers to teach them life skills in preparation for marriage including communication skills and conflict resolution.

I’ve also had an opportunity to take in the sites, as some of you have seen on Facebook. We took an official unit visit to Normandy and I’ve been able to take a couple of side trips on my own. I’m trying to do it while I can – it’s going to get busy later this winter and into the spring and we’ll have much less downtime.

Mary Ann and Margaret are coming to visit in a couple of weeks. Being away from home is the toughest part of deployment. On a regular deployment we are authorized leave to come home for a couple of weeks, but on this one we do not get leave. So, it’s extra special that they’ll get to come over here.

I hope all of you are well. I jump online to watch service when I can, but many weekends I’m not able to (e.g., this weekend I’ll be returning from the retreat). The services I have managed to catch have been a breath of fresh air and we are blessed to have such capable preaching and teaching!

I’m excited to hear how your Christmas goes. Remember to carry the momentum and share with people what an incredible God we have. Invite them to be a part of the celebration! We have Christmas parades coming up and, of course, our annual Christmas Eve Worship Service in the Park. Make sure you don’t miss it and I can’t wait to see pictures and hear about it!

One last thing: some of you tried to text me in October. I received those texts, but I think some of you didn’t receive my replies. Your carriers may not allow texts from overseas. If you have an iPhone it goes through on iMessage, but if you have another brand it typically doesn’t go through. The best way to say hi is by my church email address: chris@beach.church or message me on Facebook. I’m not on Facebook during the day of course, but I can answer messages in the evening Germany time.

Have a great Christmas and a wonderful New Year!

In Him,
Pastor Christian Magnell

Matthew 25:37-40 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, “Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?  And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you?  And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?  And the King will answer them, “Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my bothers, you did it to me.”

Devotional Prayer Time

Every Sunday 9:20 am

In Luke 19:46 Jesus declares " My house will be a house of prayer ".  Prayer is the means for us to commune with Jesus and to be in alignment with His purpose.  On Sunday mornings at 9:20am we will gather for a time of prayer prior to the service.  This is a time when we can specifically pray for His will to be done and to lift up needs in our church, our people, missionaries, our city, our county, our state, our nation, and nations of the world.  Our Sunday morning worship is a special time to worship the Lord and we want our hearts - and the hearts of those coming to Beachside - to be ready for this time of worship.  Come and join us a little early on Sunday morning and you will be blessed.

We welcome everyone from the believer to the seeker to the skeptic. We are a church family which engages the tough questions you might have about the Christian faith. Kids are important to us, so we offer a nursery (0-4 years old) or you can have your children with you in worship. For the older kids we have Kidz Cove, our Sunday School, during worship.  If you have more questions, please email russty@beach.church

Please join us Sunday mornings at 10am, Flagler Palm Coast High School, 5500 FL-100, Palm Coast, FL 32164.  In the Small Gym. For directions, please go here: directions to Beachside Church.
