MANNA has a variety of projects in Guatemala. We have an orphanage (a second orphanage is under construction and in the licensing process), 7 feeding centers, a medical clinic and a jobs training program.
My main role is the jobs training program, which is located in El Arado – a rural Mayan village. We just recently finished construction, and God willing, will begin to teach classes in January. Our first trade is welding and we will begin with 6 students. While we want to teach welding, and help these young adults break free of the cycle of poverty. We are also using welding as the vessel to teach and disciple this group of young adults. Men in the community ultimately make the majority of decisions, and can often be against their wives and children going to church. Therefore we want to capture the hearts of these men, and lead them to know Christ. So they can begin to go into their homes and across the community to disciple and share the love of Christ.
I appreciate your partnership, prayers, love, and support.
